Glossary Of Terms
bump tubing
A tube (also called taper tube or draw down) that has different diameters at each end; the diameter may also vary along the tube’s length. Generally, the smaller diameter end is inserted into the body and the larger diameter attaches to the medical device.

Microspec has extruded bump tubing since 1990 and is recognized as an industry leader in multi-lumen bump extrusions. Bump extrusion technology has enabled designers to shrink distal dimensions while maximizing the functionality at the proximal end. Microspec has led the industry in its introduction of miniature multi-lumen bump extrusions.
